I speared you with a         black-ink pen.
I tried to balance           the weight
of our weare-worn         shoulders.
Tried to counter         it with beauty
and hopefulness        , with my hopes,
persistence &         with my dark love.
They came to        see it in hundreds,
Droves, of         similarly seeking
hope and         a reason to continue.
Reasons         to love, even when it
hurts.         Reasons to try when the
vast         weight of differences 'tween
us         can't be fixed by adding
a         single strike of strength
        through the middle. Our love
      wasn't strong enough for poetry
to save. It crumbled to nothing
but the paper beneath the pen, and
my half broken voice whispering a
tale of our forgotten, broken, love.
Despite hundreds of you falling in love with 'You will never die', the love died nonetheless.

New word time!

weare-worn: worn down and weary.

The formatting is particularly stunning... in a 'the first cut is the deepest' kind of way.

very interesting and pretty, but don't regret love, dear <3 it's not the love that hurts or dies, it are the other things!

I dont :] :tighthug: I am very very lucky, having lost my sister so young, in that no matter how much a break up, or a loss, hurts I don't regret love in any form.

I was thinking, weirdly, about the cakes I made last week. Originally we were going to spear two bamboo skewers through the back cake to hold it up, to strengthen it.

I was thinking of You'll Never Die, and how all these people loved it, and I poured my heart into a very public love letter - and - it wasn't enough to save us.

For me this poem isn't one of my best, but I post everything I write here so, here it is.

we're only in it for the intention. Not the root from whence it originates.

That explains why this 'parchment' was cut... its only what it is meant to achieve that we accept it.

Have you ever considered writing to Merriam Webster or the Oxford Dictionary?

Ohh, I get it. They'll spend their whole careers trying to understand what kind of words you made up.

You're awful! :giggle:

Hmm...yeah, so he did. And I suppose they would. If people stopped creating new words, dictionary makers would be out of work.

I love have you have a line runninng through it so the words are broken like the hearts in the poem. However this poem is certainly not broken, it's amazing :D
