I need to explain this so before you judge me please read this! haha.
Okay 5 years ago (this week) I created a group here on deviantART called #ProjectPositivity
. The idea behind it is that you take a picture that symbolises you (it can be a photo of you, or if your not comfortable with that then a drawing, a cartoon, anything) and then on the image you have to add 10 things you like about yourself.
You are specifically not allowed to write false nice things like "I don't look like a dead rat every day of the year" for example.
Now, I know some people are going to think; "how vain", but actually the reason why I started this group is because, for some of us, thinking of ten things you like about yourself is REALLY hard, but by doing the project you will open your mind to notice your good qualities as well as your bad. It can't stop you from focusing on the bad things, but it makes you think of the positives for a while and challenge yourself to think positively.
I have believed, since this project began, that everyone who does this project benefits from it. It doesn't need a points reward or a competitive environment, because you get something out of it anyway.
I would just like to say that if you do participate firstly you can add your own PP to the group. Secondly, if its hard, its worth doing. I know from the original group of people who did Project Positivity when I launched it, a LOT of them cried while trying to do it, but every single of one of them was glad they did. If you are about to reply to this with "I don't think I could think of 10 good things about myself" then you are exactly the person who should try this project. Trust me, because I am one of those people.
Five years on, I wrote 11 things this time and I didn't even cry. :>
We used to have our own DA gallery for our entries but I let the group fall into disuse. I am about to relaunch it and needed a new PP of my own to show people an example. So for now I'm using the 'devious fun' gallery :> Founders:
As for the image, it took way longer than it should have, but I did it nonetheless. Stockists
