She shivers
and throws her head back hard into the pillow
(the goose down feathers spike her,
fierce into her scalp, but she thrashes again).

He groans
and bites her neck with a gurgle
    (transferring an 'I love you'
from the tips of his teeth, to her veins).

She convulses
her nails scratching a line into his back
(he crosses it, she crosses herself and prays,
she prays for nought - he exclaims; "Oh God").

He cries out
as her muscles contract in spasm
(he spills his guts to her, overjoyed
     by her assumed compliance.)

She whimpers
as her body tries to force the intrusion out.
(and the muscle of her heart contorts once more
      and, overwrought, shatters. Again.)

...because not saying no, is not the same as saying yes.

This poem is so powerful. I don't even know how to explain how wonderful this is.
It's such a sad story.

I can find no words. This packed quite the punch! I commend you for having the courage to write and to post this... and what a beautiful, expressive piece of literature it is. Your hard work shows: It speaks so many volumes with so few words... it's amazing. Wonderful, wonderful job

The strangest thing happened while I was reading this--a loud humming sound filled my ears, and I didn't notice it until I clicked the link to leave and view your gallery. Then I realized it had become deadly silent around me. It was the strangest thing, so I had to come back and tell you.

Very powerful work. Nice job. :rose:

I think most acts like this aren't a gender issue, they are an individual issue.

It sounded a bit innocent at first, but as I read on. . . I felt a cut, where my heart used to lay, and a deep incision where one might feel what rape does to someone, that day.

Is it odd to be sexist to your own gender?

It happens the other way round too, it's just that... it happened this way round to me.

:tighthug: Thanks for your comment. I was worried about this one... it is subtle at first because in my situation it was within a relationship... and sometimes the lines are blurred, sometimes they don't know what they are doing to you... sometimes... it's complicated, it's confusing... but it still hurts.

When you're in a relationship, you need to learn how to listen to the things your partner doesn't say more, than what they do say.

That,d nice to know. Thought I was being weird again. . .

I know this, yet I never been in a serious relationship. . .
Is it because I been in bad ones, is how I know this, or seen others love lives?

And no. . . not bad enough to make me want to forget them. . . just ones I regret, and wish things went differently, or we decided to stay friends and not see each other's darker side.

Whoa. Some powerful stuff. Especially the parenthetical ending of the second stanza...just wow.

I do have a small suggestion, take it or leave it. I think that your phrasing might benefit from a comma here: the goose down feathers spike her,/ fierce into her scalp, but she trashes again."
