He drinks coffee
its the art of seduction,
and quite honestly
when he does it
it might as well be.

You'll catch him
frowning into it
as he hastily scribbles
in a notebook
windswept words,
his attempts
to make the world

El cambia a español
en la mitad del frase
and I don't think
he even realises.

He loves the world
so wildly
that to be a part of it
leaves you feeling
and astonished.

He makes the world seem
to contain his love
and when he smiles,
I smile,

because he reminds me
that there is hope
to be had.
For the world,
for myself.
For people like us.

He is soil,
(not pebble).
Salt of the earth,
the roots
of everything good
that will grow from
knowing him.

He is a ramshackled
unintentional artist;
waking up to
the realisation that
he is an innovator;
and that his passion
for people
could change the world.
This is a description of ~Konjuku. A writer I really admire, and a friend I really love. He asked for a poem for his birthday, and I already spent my superlatives on writing this about him last month. So I hope this continues as an extension of that piece to remind him how adored he is, and how powerful he really is.

This is for my friend who is funny, witty, intelligent - way too intelligent, thoughtful, with a mind in higher bigger thoughts than the every day. Someone who is passionate about people, and therefore often hurting. Someone who has a big heart and a kind one too.. and who has the tortured poet artist sex appeal DOWN. XD

Happy Birthday S!

Huge thanks to Ryan who helped me track down some spanish here. XD

Oh, wow, this is just absolutely amazing. I haven't had the time to sit down and read my favorite writers on dA in awhile and man, what a piece to come back to. I love how visceral it is. Amazing job!

This is gorgeous. This is a wonderful job at characterization and imagery through your poem.
I especially love the last stanza.

'El cambia a español
en la mitad del frase'

The right way to write that is

'Él cambia a español
en la mitad de la frase'

Anyways it's very nice! And I agree with Treebuzza!
