Poetry competition (Ends this week)
Hi guys! I am running another poetry competition (off DA) and thought I'd tell you about it. It has cash prizes (paid via Paypal or similar online bank transfer options) and has some free entry options if you are eligible! It closes in a few days, so if you have a poem that fits the theme (Embers, Ignite) then go ahead and enter, or get writing! More information at www.CandleLiterature.com As we worked on the name CandleLit (@CandleLitPoets on FB, Insta and Twitter) and our tag line ‘Poetry that lights a spark‘ there was a reoccurring image of embers, almost dying, igniting flames like words sparking ideas in the audience at a poetry night. So we decided that we would make that our first competition’s theme, to help you get to know us as much as we get to know you through your entries! You can interpret this theme any way you like, there are no restrictions on that. You might want to go for the idea of something almost dying out, but surviving. The idea of something giving birth

I *was* going to with "I Have a Dog" by merit of it being the most stupidelic thing I ever wrote, but I won't inflict that on you right now. Have "Annie Says", instead:
My favourite writers are Sushi-Troll, whom I'm collab-ing with, saintartaud and LadyAnder for being always right and clear as vodka in their forum posts, BatPhace, who must be about the most underappreciated Fantasy writer I know in here, Nichrysalis, Atheshya, CrumpetsHarvey, TooManyPoems for obvious reasons, illuminara for being Senpai (IN A GOOD WAY) and NiceMechano because he may be a beginner, but he takes critique like a MAN, damn him. Also car and cake because they're a bit like Han Solo and Chewbacca to me if that makes any sense - totally reprehensible but endearing like nobody's business!
Annie SaysMy favourite game is Aunt Florence Says. I play it all the time.
Originally, there was a boy named Simon, but we don't see Simon anymore. Aunt Florence looks at me oddly when I try to ask about him. She showed me his headstone once, but that tells me nothing and it doesn't look like a head either way.
The game goes as follows: you do as you're told, by Aunt Florence. You have to say both 'Aunt' and 'Florence', otherwise, the game doesn't work and you can't do pretty much anything anymore.
But yes, this is how I like to go about my day:
Aunt Florence says: “Get dressed before breakfast”,
Aunt Florence says: “Chew your food twenty times”,
Aunt Florence says: “Don't talk about Annie”.
Annie is what we call a sinner in Sunday school. She does everything Aunt Florence says I can't, and goes upstairs wearing shoes, leaving a mess. She also hides things, and she tells lies to people. She comes in my bedroom sometimes when I'm not there.
I've never seen Anni
